Don't Say "It" too much
When you have a good writing piece, it is always good to revise. But when revising, don't change your writing up too much. If you do, you may end up with what you think was perfect, into a disaster. Editing is good though, don't get me wrong, If you don't edit your writing, you may have some bad mistakes in your piece. You should edit and revise your work. But, what I am trying to say is that if you call the subject "it" or her, she, him, he, them, they, or whatever else you may call the subject, don't do it too much. If you do, you may end up with readers wondering, What character is this? And that is not good. Especially if there is multiple characters in your story. You need to start off by giving the characters names or nicknames like- Joseph nickname- Joe. So that you could call him Joe or Joseph. But, that may be annoying because you might call him Joe for half of the story and then Joseph for the other half of the story. That is O.K, if you have a reason to do so. Like if Joe's Mom changes his name to Joseph in half of the story because his mom thinks that it's not complete. Or something like that. But what you can do is say it when you are not referring to the subject or any other characters. It is fine to use it, her, she, him, he, them, they, or whatever works, but you can't use those words all the time. You have to call the characters by their name or nickname.
